OCT 1 2020 -Libra Sun with Full Moon in ARIES
Warriors for Peace and Healing
PART 1 – Mars & The Full Moon of October 1 2020
Wisdom Teachings tell us we live and move and have our being in a sea of pulsating and fluctuating sea of energies. And as we develop as spiritual beings we learn to surf these waves rather than get drowned or carried away by them. 2020 is a momentous year for all humanity and we swim or sink together. Astrology turns out to be one of the most important tools for relating what is in the sky to what is happening here below on Earth. It is said that Astrology is the master tool for understanding ourselves and our world. “As Above So below” is the first astrological maxim.
The Aries Full Moon on October 1st may bring pent-up feelings and heated emotions to the surface as it fuels strife and conflict. But it also offers healing energy too and a chance to take our wounds from conflicts and turn them into portals of love and strength as this full moon conjoins with Chiron, the planetoid known as the Wounded Healer. By connecting with Chiron’s energy, we are told that whatever drama or chaos is happening around us is just a minuscule fraction of the bigger picture that we are walking and would eventually take us to the higher ground. The dance of the Moon around the Earth in 28 days and their dance around the Sun annually in twelve months generates a flow of electromagnetic waves that influence our lives, whether we know or accept it or not. They set cycles of new moons and full moons, of eclipses and Super Moons, impacting on our various bodies and psyche.
New Moon & Full Moon Meanings
We have a “new Moon” when our Moon’s orbit around Earth moves it between Earth and the Sun whilst a full Moon occurs when the Moon has moved in its orbit so that Earth is “between” the Moon and the Sun. Between the new and full Moon, the amount of Moon we see grows — or waxes from its right side toward its left side. A New Moon represents the end of one cycle and the beginning of another new 28-day cycle. Sun conjunct Moon gives an invigorating burst of energy and initiative. So this is an excellent time for making a fresh start, turning over a new leaf, or starting a new project. You can also question old habits, behaviors, and beliefs as you search for new and inventive ways to express yourself and make progress in life. The Full Moon on the other hand is the lunar phase when the Moon appears fully illuminated from Earth’s perspective. This occurs when Earth is located between the Sun and the Moon (more exactly, when the ecliptic longitudes of the Sun and Moon differ by 180°).
A Full Moon is therefore when we can see the entire lit portion of the Moon. The full moon phase occurs when the Moon is on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun, called opposition. A lunar eclipse can only happen at full moon whilst a solar eclipse only occurs at a new moon. What does a full moon symbolize? The full moon is round and completely illuminated. It represents completion, the height of power, the realization of your desires and the peak of clarity. It is a time to celebrate your growth from the new moon, take note of what progress you have made and to reflect on how far you have come. When the Sun & Moon oppose each other during a Full Moon, this can cause tension & uncomfortable friction, but at the same time a greater amplification of vision & potential possibility. The full moon should be a powerful time of gratitude, gracefully acknowledging the beauty of life itself and all you have brought into beingness.
Mars & The Full Moon of October 1
This Aries Full Moon on October 1st is the first of two Full Moons for the month of October. There will be another Full Moon, a Blue Moon at the month’s end in the sign of Taurus. October is definitely one of the more heated months of the year as it hosts two full moons as well as other challenging alignments involving Mars, the Lord of War and Conflict. It seems that everything 2020 has brought us is coming to a head this month, and having two Full Moons in the same month indicates the theme of clearing and purging, of eliminating what is no more viable in our lives.
October brings us many challenges, but it is also a month of completion. As the tenth month of the year, it signifies a new beginning on the horizon. It is written in the stars that all of us, as a collective, are preparing to end a karmic cycle we have been working through for lifetimes to begin a new cycle of planetary unfoldment and upliftment. We are being upgraded and we can be uplifted to a higher ground if only we cooperate with the impending forces and energies. Simone Matthews of www.Universallifetools.com tell us that: “Earth is currently sitting at the dawn of a New Earth Era, on the brink of a epic shift toward a Universal Humanity. Many paths of possible futures are both converging & being birthed. The choices we make now, what we bring to the world in this moment becomes the creative force that materialises our NEW collective story for Humanity. As we close and wrap up this karmic cycle on a collective level, we can expect to see the energies turning a laser beam focus to the things we need to resolve and let go of once and for all.”
MARS & CHIRON IN 2020
The most important planet this month is Mars, still retrograde in Aries throughout October – it turns direct next month on November 13th. Mars is currently closer to the earth and the brightest planet in the night sky. As the October 1st Full Moon falls in Mars’ ruling sign of Aries, it activates the Mars Retrograde which is currently in operation and which we focused upon in part 1; please go to (http://www.cosmostotalhealth.org/2020/09/10/coping-with-the-warrior-red-planet-as-it-goes-backward/ ).
The Healing Presence of Chiron – Chiron Helping Us Heal Our Wounds
The Full Moon activates the long-running aspect of Mars square Saturn which speaks of the mounting frustration and impatience with the lockdowns of Covid-19 but also the possibility of breakthroughs (Sun quincunx Uranus) or freedom from what is holding us back. The month hold surprises for all.
The Full Moon also carry some healing presence. This healing presence is given to us by the Sun in Libra highlighting the full moon conjunct the asteroid Chiron. Chiron is known as the wounded healer but also is the rainbow bridge. Its energy represents the process of awakening and transformation. As we awaken or emerge from the battleground, we are able to take our wounds and turn them into powerful portals of strength, wisdom, and compassion. When we channel Chiron’s energy, we are also able to walk the bridge into higher states of consciousness. Chiron is like the bridge over very troubled waters. We are able to see that all that ever happens and unfolds in our lives is for our highest good. We are able to see that even though tragedy and awful things happen in this life, there is always a bigger picture leading us to a higher ground.
On an even deeper level, walking the rainbow bridge reminds us that all we experience in this life is a paradox. It is both real but also an illusion.
By connecting with Chiron’s energy, we reminded that whatever drama or chaos is happening around us is just a minuscule fraction of the bigger picture that we are walking, not just in this life, but across all lifetimes. At the end of the way we learn that crisis resolution can lead to achievement, recognition, stability, and a long-desired state of harmony. Chiron with the Full Moon tell us that there is medicine in the grief and that this is the Healing Power of Illness. The Full Moon encourages us to explore our feelings and emotional states, purifying, eliminating undesirable elements in them and uplifting them to the heart chakra of love and forgiveness. The October 1 full moon lasts for two weeks up to the October 16 new moon. And that is followed by the second full moon of the month on the 31st, the October 2020 blue moon.
Mars has been retrograde since September 9, however on October 13, Mercury will join Mars, adding to the slow-down effect we may feel but which is nothing but being asked to Review and Revise the way we think (Mercury), feel and act (Mars). Along with Mars and Mercury being in retrograde, October also brings us two Full Moons- an Aries Full Moon on the 1st and a Taurus Full Moon on the 31st. These are the last Full Moons we will experience before we head into the final Eclipse Season of the year come November when we experience the impact of an eclipse on Nov 30, 2020, a Full Moon (Penumbral LUNAR Eclipse) at 8 Gemini 38 followed by New Moon (Total SOLAR Eclipse) at 23 Sagittarius 08 on Dec 14, 2020.
Mars continues to square the triple conjunction of the heavyweight planets in Capricorn – Saturn (Sept 29), Pluto (Oct 9) & Jupiter (Oct 19). These Mars squares highlight roadblocks, limitations, challenges, tension and conflict but also the power to transcend them and produce harmony eventually. Chiron enables us cross the bridge over troubled waters. Here are some key pointers to help you deal with Mars’ powerful energy as it continues its retrograde journey:
- We should stand up for our rights and what we believe in; for the Full Moon in Aries is motivated by the Sun in Libra, the sign of Justice, Balance and Equity.
- Get active but with restraint, don’t rush into things, avoid unnecessary arguments or fights or precipitate actions; possibility of accidental discharge.
- Focus on your needs but realize that others have their own valid rights and needs too. Even if you have lost your job or broken relationships, or lost your pop or mom or relative, brother, sister, friend it is not the end of the world. Be tolerant and accept things as it is. Be creative and productive and practical – what can you do to move your life on?
- Let things you no longer need go – clear out stuff you don’t need in your life, channel your energy into what’s possible, keep it real. Move up on the upward way!
- Discipline emotions and avoid outbursts of anger and rage that you may later regret. Plan and review positive practical actions to take. Reset your emotional trigger.
The Ist.October Full Moon not only activates the Mars Saturn Square but also the transformative energy of Pluto, which will leave retrograde on October 4, a few days after the Full Moon peaks. The Covid-19 pandemic which color 2020 has already brought a lot of tension and heated emotions, exposed shortcomings in government and healthcare services in countries all over the world, but this Full Moon has the power to amplify all of these and to bring to the surface pent-up feelings and emotions, ruled by Mars and which need healing and transformation. Humanity is ill but we need to appreciate the healing and transformative power of sickness.
Full moon October 2020 is linked to the unstable and disruptive planet Uranus, through the unstable Quincunx aspect to the Sun. This creates tension and anxiety that naturally seeks an outlet. But spontaneous and uncontrolled release of tension can result in impulsive actions and sudden bursts of anger, rage, resentment, violence whose outcome may be undesirable.
The configuration can most likely lead to an escalation of the unrest, rebellion, and rioting of recent weeks in the US, UK, France, Germany, Thailand, Hong Kong, Belarus, Mali, Egypt. These global protests highlight peoples protesting poor governance, high cost of living etc. People are fed up with the way they are being governed and they demand a better deal. Young people protest bad governance across Africa; from Algeria to Sudan to Mali to Nigeria to Cameroon, protests have continued to rock some of Africa’s major cities, especially those countries run by aged dictators, who have lost touch with the realities of the time. Unemployment, high cost of living, bad governance mixed with crackdown on alternative views, have bonded and propelled many youths and the disadvantaged to hit the streets.
On October 3: Mars Conjunct Eris
Eris is the Goddess of Discord and Strife. She is a pioneer for standing up for her rights and claiming back her power. Both Mars and Eris can be a volatile combination, so be mindful of lashing out or doing something you may regret later. On a collective level, we may see this energy manifest as a need to stand up for our rights and what we believe in.
October 6: Mars Closest to Earth
Mars makes its closest approach to Earth on October 6 , this again will amplify the energy of the red planet, stimulating our astral bodies as well as our power to fight infections ( Immune system). Mars can bring heightened tension and also heightened passion which need proper handling. This can also bring extreme weather patterns, especially heatwaves and fires may continue in western US as well as other places.
October 9: Mars Square Pluto
This is the second of three Mars-Pluto Squares. This is a time when we may see power struggles or abuse of power on the world stage. There may be an increased need for people to step up and claim their power back. If you are feeling oppressed in any area of your life, this alignment may also be a trigger to resist. The little wills of men are subordinated to Divine Will which works for the good of the Whole. Some so-called ‘Big men” fall from their pinnacle of power; the image is the “Lightning Struck Tower”.
October 13: Mercury Retrograde
Mercury enters retrograde in the sign of Scorpio. The answers we seek are not so clearly heard in the outside world, which means we have to go within and listen to our own inner voice. Mercury stations direct on November 3, which also happens to be election day in the USA. This can increase the likelihood of confusion and delays surrounding the election but also we can begin to see beyond the ” fake” news and “fake” people.
October 16: Libra Super New Moon Themes
This is the closest Super New Moon of the year. Falling in the sign of Libra, this New Moon calls for us to focus on balance. We may have to get creative and think of new ways to approach our lives and the changes that have greeted us. There is no going back to the way things were, so we have to start innovating and thinking about how to move forward. This New Moon is linked to the April 7 Full Moon, the Spring Full Moon. (http://www.cosmostotalhealth.org/2020/06/13/the-2020-goodwill-eclipse-full-moon-i-cant-breathe/). The Christ Full Moon of Apr 7, 2020 at 18 Libra 44 which was a Super Full Moon was a deep calling within the Full Moon to RISEUP and embrace our Inner-Warrior (Aries) and seek to find new ways of connection, empathy and togetherness (Libra), as together we must find new ways of being and living together in harmony in this world at this time. Libra themes of Law, Equality, Sex and Money/Economy are highlights of this Libra Super new moon. Controlling one’s temper detonates explosive situations. We can achieve Unity thru love and togetherness. An innate sense of justice and fairness must be called into play. We must learn that sharing the gifts of life is the way to Peace for Libra is the Peacemaker in which the Sun is placed. We have reached the turning point where we learn that tolerance of each other’s shortcomings leads to harmony and peace on earth.
The October 1 full moon highlights an unstable and disruptive connection to the planet Uranus, the Awakener through an unstable and disruptive quincunx aspect (Sun Quincunx Uranus). This aspect creates tension and anxiety that naturally seeks an outlet through some movement and activity; a spontaneous and uncontrolled release of tension can result in impulsive actions and sudden bursts of anger and violence. The key to using this highly charged energy to your advantage is flexibility and adaptability with goodwill. Making changes and adjustments to your stance will allow you to take advantage of opportunities that arise from the challenging conditions. Intense prayer and Worldwide Meditation on Peace is being practiced by men and women of goodwill persuasion to let Love and Peace reign on our Earth. The recognition that there is no Peace without Justice and Equity which foster right human relationships is imminent.
