Protection of the Environment & All Creatures on Earth (P.E.A.C.E.)

Just as March 2018 ended with a Full Moon that marked the Festival of Resurrection of Easter, celebrated by Christians all over the world, April 2018 also ends with a Full Moon which mark the second great festival of the year, the Festival of Enlightenment associated with Lord Buddha, founder of the  Buddhism Way.   Thus April 2018 brought together the energies of two major world Religions or spiritual movements- Christianity and Buddhism; the energies of Resurrection and Enlightenment.

The Easter Festival is the festival of the risen, living Christ, the World Teacher and embodies the themes of Crucifixion and Resurrection: the Old man must die that the New spirit in Christ may be born.  The Wesak festival is the festival of the Buddha. It is the great Eastern festival and is celebrated as the festival of awakening, of liberation and transfiguration.

The Full Moon of Sun in Taurus and Moon in Scorpio is the second of the “Three High Full Moons” of the Northern Hemisphere Spring, the first being the Easter Full Moon of 30/31 March, which had the Sun in Aries with the Moon in Libra.

“…Since the Full Moon in Libra on March 31st, we have been summoned to remember our essential needs and align ourselves more closely to our true destiny — in part, through feelings of discord with many of our current relationships and circumstances. As part of this realignment, the energy of the New Moon in Aries on April 16th invited us to let go of past events and circumstances, including our ancestral and karmic memories, and to allow our vibrant selves to shape to the way we see the stories of our past instead of allowing the stories of our past to shape how we see ourselves, our lives, and the future we are creating.

Now, with today’s Full Moon in Scorpio, we have an opportunity to see the totality of the direction that is unfolding in our lives and, therefore, to begin truly trusting and committing to the new direction we are moving in, overcome the boundaries and limitations that are holding us back, and allow the power of transformation to flow through us….”   Simon Vorster & Jennifer Langstone, evolutionary contributing writers for Wake Up World tell us.

Everyone seeks peace, progress, health and prosperity and as this year is one for change and upgrade our lives and our consciousness, if the eclipses at the beginning of the year   on Jan 31 and Feb. 15 did not begin to change our way of life, April offered another opportunity for change.  The previous New Moon of 15 April offered the opportunity to REBOOT or to RESET our life trends. The April 15 Aries New Moon launched a fiery activation process. The Sun and Moon join in late degree Aries alongside Uranus, as it wraps up its seven-year journey which started in 2010 through that sign before entering Taurus on 15 May. This is the final hurrah of an extended wake-up call to review your life-trends…. People are being galvanized to action to liberate themselves of outmoded and outworn behaviors and attitudes that no longer serve our collective good. One example is the #MeToo movement. The #metoo, #timesup and #neveragain movements are not going away soon!

And the Uranus factor at the New Moon tells us that anything could happen. A quickening is at hand, and courageous action is required. The Mars-Saturn conjunction earlier in the month got a lot of us committed to important work and on track for success. It’s time to let the past burn away and you can make a new start. If you’re still seeking a jolt of awareness about your true purpose or next step, this may have started in April and may be culminating around or after the full moon at the end of April.

Why Are Full Moons So Important?

We live and move and have our being in a sea of fluctuating energies. Energies are in constant motion and circulate continuously. Wise dwellers on this our planet must recognize this and learn to live, navigate or surf safely to their destination. At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of the cycle. The first half of the lunation cycle is when to give birth into form whilst the second half can bring to culmination and completion the purpose of that cycle.

Full moons tend to make us purge and release things from our lives, so we need to make sure that we are in control of this and no one is forcing our hand! Sometimes we can let go of things that we regret later, due to heightened emotions and the full moon’s perchance for saying ‘F*** You! I’m out of here. I can’t take it no more.’  Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun.  The Full Moon Lunar Light  provides a catalyst to let go, release out-dated beliefs and transmute aspects of self that are no-longer in alignment with your illuminated beauty of Soul.

That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon. Full Moons heighten feelings and bring to fulfillment due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. The Full moon is the time of the height of the Moon’s influence on the emotional and spiritual bodies. This is the time of external growth, not internal development. It is a time of reaching out, of love, friendship, and ok, strangeness. At times the effects are somewhat overpowering, hence the legend of behaviors under the Full Moon. The Full Moon’s magic can be maximized in groups with a focus on pooling energies for a greater good. Creativity and healing circles are the strongest under a Full Moon and wisdom deepens during this phase.

This last full moon is the perfect full moon to complement the April 15 new moon because the major theme of that new moon was making a positive change in your life. The New Moon two weeks before the present full moon at the end of April was particularly good for making a fresh start in your love life or in some other areas of your life that you have been dissatisfied with. Whether rejuvenating an existing relationship or finding new love, or changing jobs or some aspect of your life, the planets are aligned in your favor.  The just ended April 29/30 full moon now brings the stability and security to crystallize recent changes and make them permanent improvements. We are told that “this is a good full moon for making new partnerships binding, formal and legal. It is a good full moon for tradition, ritual and ceremony. New projects, relationships and partnerships since the April 15 new moon have a good chance of success”.

In this Full Moon the Moon and the Sun are both in close square aspect to the North and South Node, challenging us to make a major evolutionary leap. The FM involves the Fixed Cross; the effect of the Fixed Cross is to bring light and liberation to those who sit in darkness and bondage.

The Sun in Taurus and the Moon in Scorpio square the North Node and CERES the Great Mother Dwarf Planet both at 10+ degrees LEO points to the Power of the DIVINE FEMININE reigning and square the North Node at +10 degrees Leo and South Node at 10 degrees AQUARIUS asks us to pay attention to our environment.  IT’S about the planet we live on and is home to more than six billion humans and countless other animals and plants.  With climate change and pollution endangering planet Earth, people are being implored to help protect the fragile environment – and one way to help is by taking action every day and especially on Earth Day. Every year on April 22, people across the globe celebrate Mother Earth Day.

When is Earth Day 2018?

Earth Day is held every year on April 22 and in 2018 this was no different.  Organisers settled on this date as it is in the spring but does not conflict with the religious holidays of Easter and Passover. It is also said that one of the organisers, Julian Koenig came up with the idea of holding it on April 22 as it was his birthday and the word ‘birthday’ rhymes with Earth Day.

What is Earth Day?

Earth Day is an annual event marked across the world to show support for environmental protection.  The aim is to encourage people to do things that will benefit the Earth, such as recycling more, using solar power or plant trees. The event takes place around the world and it is described as the biggest secular holiday on the planet.  More than a billion people celebrate the day including environmental campaigners Leonardo di Caprio and Emma Watson.  Earth Day is an annual event to raise awareness of protecting the environment.  We joined as we launched and networked with peoples around the world united in the Protection of the Environment and All Creatures on Earth and so to bring PEACE on Earth.

Education is the foundation for progress. We need to build a global citizenry fluent in the concepts of climate change and aware of its unprecedented threat to our planet. We need to empower everyone with the knowledge to inspire action in defense of environmental protection.  Environmental and climate literacy is the engine not only for creating green voters and advancing environmental and climate laws and policies but also for accelerating green technologies and jobs.

International Mother Earth Day is celebrated to remind each of us that the Earth and its ecosystems provide us with life and sustenance.  It also recognizes a collective responsibility, as called for in the 1992 Rio Declaration, to promote harmony with nature and the Earth to achieve a just balance among the economic, social and environmental needs of present and future generations of humanity.

International Mother Earth Day provides an opportunity to raise public awareness around the world to the challenges regarding the well-being of the planet and all the life it supports.

What is the Earth Day 2018 theme and how can I help end plastic pollution?

The theme for 2017 was “Environmental & Climate Literacy”; for 2018 it is help ‘End Plastic Pollution’. For 2018, we support the Earth Day Network in the Earth Day theme which is ‘End Plastic Pollution’.  Individuals wanting to help make an impact can download an action toolkit and work out how much plastic they’re consuming, then create a plan to reduce it. Organisations can organise an Earth Day Activity day to educate others on their plastic consumption and the impact it has on the environment.

People can mark Earth Day be doing simple things such as planting trees or recycling more.

Earth Day is Every Day: For 2018 End Plastic Pollution

Plastic pollution is poisoning our oceans and land, injuring marine life, and affecting our health!

Help End Plastic Pollution by finding out how many plastic items you consume every year and make a PLEDGE to reduce that amount.

Earth Day Network in 2018 and beyond is dedicated to providing the information and inspiration needed to fundamentally change human attitude and behavior about plastics.

Choose an option below to take further action to End Plastic Pollution.

Here are some simple steps you can take to reduce your plastic consumption:

  • Use reusable bags when you go shopping
  • Don’t use plastic straws with drinks where possible
  • Buy boxes instead of bottles – cardboard is easier to recycle than plastic
  • Use reusable bottles and cups
  • Pack meals in reusable containers instead of disposable plastic containers and sandwich bags

The Full Moon of Wesak occurs in the 8th sign of Scorpio. SCORPIO full moons are never LITE and she brings to high tides our deepest feelings about sex, death, power, control, secrets, psychology, money, taxes, rebirth and transformation. It reveals the shadows.  Yes, the #MeToo, #timesup and #neveragain energies are in full swing. Let us remember that Full Moons are always completions of New Moons’ themes.

But Scorpio has Three levels of Consciousness.

Scorpio is the only sign of the Zodiac that has transformation built into its symbology. Scorpio is represented not only by the scorpion, but also by the spider, the eagle and the phoenix. Each of the latter three represents a phase in its spiritual path.

Alan Oken, Astrologer-Philosopher refers to these three levels of consciousness as (1) Personality-centered, (2) awakening to the Soul-personality relationship, and (3) Soul-centered. These three stages of evolution can be outlined as (1) Asleep, (2) Awakening or waking-up and (3) Awake. Scorpio has these three stages vivified in its symbols.

Scorpio is the sign of the phoenix- rising out of the ashes, people love this image but we have to remember that in order to rise out of the ashes something previously had to be completely lit on fire! We have to put on fire all outmoded states of being. We have to learn from the Eagle the secrets of Rebirth.

1. *Eagles fly Alone and at High Altitudes.*

They don’t fly with sparrows, ravens, and other small birds.

*MEANING*; Stay away from narrow-minded people, those that bring you down. Eagle flies with Eagles. Keep good company.

2. *Eagles have an Accurate Vision.* They have the ability to focus on something as far as 5km away. No matter the obstacles, the eagle will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it.

*MEANING*; Have a vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacles and you will succeed.

3. *Eagles do not Eat Dead things. They Feed only on Fresh Prey.*

*MEANING*; Do not rely on your past success, keep looking for new frontiers to conquer. Leave your past where it belongs, in the past.

4. *Eagles Love the Storm.*

When clouds gather, the eagle gets excited, the eagle uses the storms wind to lift itself higher. Once it finds the wind of the storm, the eagle uses the raging storm to lift itself above the clouds. This gives the eagle an opportunity to glide and rest its wings. In the meantime, all the other birds hide in the branches and leaves of the tree.

*MEANING*; Face your challenges head on knowing that these will make you emerge stronger and better than you were. We can use the storms of life to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid of challenges, rather they relish them and use them profitably.

5. *Eagles Prepare for Training;*

They remove the feathers and soft grass in the nest so that the young ones get uncomfortable in preparation for flying and eventually flies/ when it becomes unbearable to stay in the nest./

*MEANING*; Leave your Comfort Zone, there is No Growth there.

6. *When the Eagle Grows Old,*

His feathers becomes weak and cannot take him as fast and as high as it should. This makes him weak and could make him die. So he retires to a place far away in the mountains. While there, he plucks out the weak feathers on his body and breaks its beaks and claws against the rocks until he is completely bare; a very bloody and painful process. Then he stays in this hiding place until he has grown new feathers, new beaks and claws and then he comes out flying higher than before.

*MEANING*; We occasionally need to shed off old habit no matter how difficult, things that burden us or add no value to our lives should be let go of.

This is a rebirth full moon.

As we moved from a Mars-ruled New Moon conjunct Uranus the Rebel and Revolutionary to a Mars/Pluto-ruled Full Moon sextile Saturn, we move from activation and sudden change to anchoring and grounding ourselves in the deep change that is demanded. We need all the Light and Love to Resurrect from the ashes of the past.

“Scorpio’s Full Moon gifts can be plentiful ~ alignment with the feminine mysteries, diving deep, dying to the past, finding renewal, and powerful life force energy releasing when shadowy subconscious material is brought into the light where it can be named.

“These are gifts we may be challenged to receive this Full Moon…

“Scorpio and Pluto are powerful medicines asking everything of you before granting the joy of rebirth.  “We bow to the previous Aries New Moon as we reach culmination here at Full Moon for the experiences we have undertaken, crisis overcome and commitments we have made towards breaking free and stepping up our game.

The Moon and the Sun are both in close square aspect to the North and South Node, challenging us to make a major evolutionary leap. The North Node is in Leo whilst the South Node is in Aquarius who rules freedom for all beings. The separative individual consciousness of Leo can become the world conscious soul in Aquarius.

Finally, always insightful Divine Harmony advises us:” ….if we are ready, willing and able we can go deep this week- into our souls, our emotions, our shadows and into our past. remember jupiter in scorpio and pluto don’t care about peace, harmony and how things look on the surface. all they care about is what is real, raw, going on in the depths and what needs to be faced in order to resolved, transformed or let go of. the jupiter/pluto sextile is excellent for catharsis, colonics (literal, spiritual and emotional), purging and releasing karmic patterns that have kept us bound for perhaps lifetimes!!! this is not light astrology! but it is profound and when worked with consciously tremendously life altering…….and of course we have the jupiter/pluto sextile in the same signs- helping us to strip away illusions and dogmas and karmic patterns that keep us stuck….  this is an excellent lunation to face our deepest shadows and stand in the power of accountability and integrity so we can deal with what we see there!”
